Because quality matters
After your text has been translated by a qualified linguist (or a team of linguists), it moves on to our editing team. This stage is not just a formality - it’s a structured, quality-driven process, backed by international standards, internal guidelines, and measurable evaluation criteria.
Our editing process consists of two key stages: Revision and Proofreading - both built into our standard production workflow, occupying steps 2 and 3:
Translation - completed by a qualified native linguist with subject-matter expertise
Revision - bilingual review by a second linguist to ensure accuracy and clarity
Proofreading - final monolingual check for grammar, punctuation, and flow
LSO (Linguistic Sign-Off) - in-context review to verify formatting, layout, and language consistency
Client feedback loop - optional final step to incorporate your style preferences and terminology
Revision
This is a mandatory ISO 17100-compliant step.
A second professional linguist - not the original translator - reviews the translation against the source text to ensure:
semantic accuracy
correct terminology
stylistic adequacy
consistency throughout the text
Revision helps eliminate misinterpretations and ensures the message is conveyed faithfully and clearly.
Proofreading
This is a monolingual review performed after revision. It focuses solely on the target text, checking:
grammar
punctuation
spelling
typographic consistency
general readability and tone
This step ensures that the final version reads naturally, flows well, and is free from surface-level errors.
Qualified professionals
Both revision and proofreading are carried out by linguists with qualifications equivalent to the translator: typically, a degree in translation or linguistics, plus relevant professional experience. Their fresh perspective allows them to spot issues the original translator might miss - ensuring your content is not only correct, but polished and publication-ready.
